Classical Ballet & Pilates
At LPSD we offer classical ballet classes from Pre-Primary through to Solo Seal, following the Royal Academy Of Dance Syllabus. The students have many opportunities to attend classical ballet intensives throughout the year conducted by R.A.D examiners and tutors to perfect their work, before sitting their exams. LPSD guides students through elite training for competitions, bursaries and scholarships. Selected students are also encouraged to audition for programs with the Queensland Ballet and the Australian Ballet School.
At LPSD we have a strong focus to perfect the classical ballet art form as it is the basis to all other styles. To maintain the high standard of LPSD dancers all vocational classical ballet students must do Pilates/ conditioning classes to maintain and develop their strength and flexibility.

The Part Time Program
Gain a Certificate III In Dance and Certificate IV In Dance delivered at Leisa Paynce School Of Dance in partnership with the Australian Teachers Of Dancing, RTO 31624
Unlocking professional dance certifications usually requires full-time attendance at specialised schools in capital cities. Therefore, we are thrilled to be able to bring this nationally recognised training to the heart of our LP dancers.
Our programs are tailored to not only enhance the dancer’s skills and assist them in entering the performing arts industry but also contribute to the dancer’s academic milestones like QCE and ATAR.
1. **QCE Accreditation:** Completing these certificates can earn valuable QCE points, reflecting dedication and proficiency in dance. These points contribute towards achieving the dancer’s Queensland Certificate of Education.
2. **ATAR Consideration:** While ATAR primarily relies on academic subjects, the completion of vocational education and training (VET) courses such as Certificate III and IV can earn ATAR points. These points can complement the dancer’s overall ATAR score, enhancing their eligibility for university admission and expanding their options for tertiary education.
This program also serves as an excellent pathway for students looking to pursue full-time training. In the near future, Leisa Payne School Of Dance will be introducing the CUA60120 Full-Time Advanced Diploma Of Professional Dance (Elite Performance), creating an even more advanced and specialised program for aspiring professionals.
The Elite Transition Program
The Leisa Payne School of Dance Elite Transition Program has been designed to allow aspiring and committed young dancers aged 11 years and over to enrol in a half day specialised training regime where students are guided and nurtured through tailored coaching in classical ballet and contemporary.
The class styles that will be offered throughout the program include, but are not limited to:
